– Caving is the perfect group activity, for fun or for team-building
– Experienced cave leaders offer guidance and reassurance to beginners
– A great wet weather or winter activity
Caving or potholing is all about exploring the subterranean environment as a team. Don’t think that caving is only about crawling through tiny holes, many caves have passages as wide as rivers and chambers as large as houses! Come caving and see a natural environment that you would never otherwise experience.
As the temperature underground remains constant all year round caving is a very popular winter activity.
“What an experience! This was a birthday present for my daughter who said it was the best gift ever. Both daughters loved the adventure and had the option to try more difficult routes once we were inside the maze of caves. I was making up the numbers, with some trepidation, and while it was extremely challenging I would not have missed it for the world. Steve was an excellent guide, persuasive but not pushy when suggesting that I could ‘just see how this next bit goes’. If you are scared of caving, this may well change your mind. Highly recommended!” Rachel B
For beginners we offer trips to local Devon caves just a 30 minute drive from Exeter. The most popular is Pridhamsleigh Cavern which is famous for its mud. For the more experienced or more adventurous, longer trips to the cave systems of Somerset’s Mendip hills can be arranged.
For experienced cavers we run courses in SRT (Single Rope Technique) which allows access to vertical cave systems. SRT rescue courses are also offered for those who wish to take the technique further.
Our staff are experienced and nationally qualified cavers. We can provide all the necessary equipment (lamps, helmets and oversuits). All you will need are some old clothes to wear underneath and a sense of adventure!
